Director Brian Laver has experience coaching at the highest level, e.g.:
Director Waldemar Kowalczyk undertook initial formal training as a tennis coach by the Polish Tennis Association, while also completing a Master's in Biomechanics and Physical Education.
Subsequently, Waldemar obtained a Professional Tennis Certificate from the National Tennis Academy, Texas, USA, and an Advanced Teaching Certificate through the Peter Burwash International Tennis Teaching Course.
Since 1991, Waldemar has coached thousands of students with Aussie Tennis at West End and South Brisbane.
Senior Coach Michael Chong trained in an elite junior tennis program in Malaysia, and competed in numerous tournaments across Brunei, Malaysia, and Australia including junior ITF tournaments. One of Malaysia's strongest junior players, Michael led his state tennis team to victory on two occasions in the prestigious Malaysian National Secondary School Tennis Championships.
Michael began training with Aussie Tennis in 2015 and has helped hundreds of students to develop their game. Having been an elite junior player himself, Michael can offer deep insight into technical and mental aspects of the game to aspiring junior competitors.
Senior Coach Tim Fitzgerald has recently joined the Aussie Tennis team. Tim has significant experience in promotion and management of tennis events, and has arranged for Aussie Tennis to become a verified provider under the Universal Tennis system.
Having been a competitive junior player, Tim recently resumed regular training and competition play in ITF seniors tournaments. Tim reached a national Australian rank of No. 6 and a top-50 world ITF ranking in the over 35s category, and currently competes in the over 40s.
